gotta love short weeks...
Wooohoooo... tomorrow is Thursday! Don't you just love short weeks??? Either way, I do! :-) It's only been 2 days...so, I really DON'T have much to report.
Last night was Salsa class. Arriba, arriba...hehe. After 3 lessons, I can now to a complete "basic" dance. (relatively well..lol) You would not believe how many steps/moves that takes and how physical it it. One more class in beginners and then off to intermediate. One of the great things about the place where I'm attending class is that when you move to the next level you can come back and do beginners for free. BONUS, and something I will take advantage of...lol.
Over the next few days we should have really nice weather again and then next week they are forecasting rain again and more winter temperatures. Would love if it would just stay around the same for a while.
Anyone watch Oprah? This week she's been reporting on the aftermath of hurricane Katrina and how little has been done over the last six months. I was floored and saddened all over again to still see all the trash, sewage, ruined & mold infested homes that have to be torn down, tent villages.. I could go on and on. I live in one of the richest countries in the world and no one seems to be able to at least cleanup the mess so that our own citizens can live in clean and safe areas. Rebuilding will take years.. but why the delay on the basics? Did you know that there are fields, notice not just one, that are filled with brand new trailers just waiting to be given to some of the people in need. They've been there since weeks after the hurricane. They say it's on a "case by case" basis.. will that be in this lifetime? Anyway, Oprah and Habitat continue to build home through her Angel Network with the goal of 250 homes. They are built and furnished with donations of all kinds. I would encourage you, if you are so inclined, to go to www.Oprah.com and look at her registry. You can purchase an item for as little as $10. (the cost of a fast food meal) or pay for a house at $50,000. (for those of you that have won the lottery) It's all about taking care of each other.
Thanks for reading...had more to say then I thought.
God bless...stay safe and well..
