ghouls n goblins n grownups...
Another season of haunting comes to a close in 40 minutes and we'll move right into a season of thanksgiving mixed with the rush of the early christmas shoppers!
Yesterday was fun.. a "family" halloween party with lots of kids dressed in such creative costumes. One of my favorites was a pair of felons (with real jumpsuits cuz dad's a cop) with the 3 years old dressed in a NYPD uniform..hehe... keeping mom and dad in check! Last night was a halloween party at the bar my friends played at.. again...such creative costumes.. guess we never quite grow up when it comes to playing dress up, huh? hehe Yours truly was dressed as a gypsy, but everyone thought I was a wench... #2 would probably be a closer guess..haha. Tonite brought very few trick or treaters..and much to my chagrin..I got all the teens..lol...not one lil one! :( My first 2 weren't even teens, I'm sure..they had to be in there early (?) twenties. Sad, sad, sad!
As you can see, I thought I'd share a pic of my own treaters when they were much smaller than they are now and I still had a say in what they wore...haha. For those that have seen the pic of Chel's costume this year....they understand that comment!!
I hope you all had a fine weekend, got all your clocks set to right time, and enjoyed trick or treaters visiting you. My advice before I go off to bed ...DO NOT EAT ALL THE LEFTOVER CANDY! (that goes for dini and pat
especially!!) hehe.
Happy week... see ya when .. hugz 0:-)

by request...
Okay, okay... I'm here! I don't have an overnighter to blog about but I will do my best to tell you something... hmmm... thinking... well.
Looks like my youngest will be employed again this week! Woohoo! She was hired by the Armani store in Old Town Pasadena... a very yuppy place to visit on the weekends. Shops, mostly pricey, restaurants of all kinds.. upscale home stores, including Crate and Barrel..hehe
She will be required to wear their clothes. They give her one free outfit and then she has to buy her own. If what she is wearing goes out of style, she is no longer allowed to wear it... this will be an interesting experience..for all! lol
Tomorrow will be a rare occasion..all my girls are off on same day and we are going to a Halloween party together for a while....I may have to have someone take a pic just for the sake of being in same place in the same time! Tomorrow night I will be out dancing at the bar where they are also having a halloween party...I think the gypsy in me may show up. ;-) Anyone else have any special parties they are attending? By the way, twinkie..did you win??? And if so, where are we going to dinner??
I hope this weekend finds you all having fun and enjoying good weather! Dont' forget to set your clocks back tomorrow nite!
til whenever... stay safe.. hugz 0:-)

okay, okay...I'm back!
My oh my....poor Dini... day started off not quite right and then no blogs to set life right! Calling all bloggers...step up folks, we must rescue the wee one before she slips into a blog depression! (especially since SHE is getting to go away tomorrow!) Of course, I've already chatted with her..so allmy news is old news..hehe.
Let's see.. we've had huge amounts of rain since last night and even though it's stopped this evening, the clouds are covering the sky with small patches peeking through but none that show the moon so, no lunar eclipse for me. I think, actually hope..haha..that our rain is finished for a while. The weather report says we should see a beautiful weekend...this is one of those times that I really hope those weathercasters that get paid BIG bucks to usually be wrong.. are RIGHT..lol.
Big news from my home!! Speaking with tremendous amounts of parental pride I want to share with all of you that Amanda (my oldest daughter) was promoted to assistant manager of the Crate and Barrel store she works at in Los Angeles. Not only will she have much more responsibility, which she is definitely ready to handle, but she'll get a NICE raise which I'm hoping will help me live in the style I'd like I'd become accustomed to! hehe Truthfully, I'm just plain proud ...she's been with the company 4 1/4 years and started as a floor stocker. Way to go DAUGHTER!
In the midst of my joy, my heart is saddened at the loss of a young lady used to babysit for me and who's younger sister is a good friend of Amanda's. May God bless her family and give them peace in a time of incredible sadness.
Sorry to repeat... life is fragile, friends...no matter what age you are.. tell those you love that you love them...stay in touch no matter how near or far you are...
I LOVE YOU .. hugz ..Reetz

You just had to be there..hehe
I'm in total agreement with Brad.. last night in channel was hysterical and I'm still laughing about it today. Laughter is totally the best medicine for what ails you, and sometimes even when you aren't ailin. *grin* I can tell the full moon is making it's prescence known as everyone's "other" self showed themselves, big time. And to think, these are usually everyday "normal"? people that hold down jobs, raise families, go to school... what is this channel coming to and why don't we have fun like that more often? lol
Today found us traveling towards the beach area to an open air marketplace (1000 vendors)with wonderful goodies (99% new) priced way below market value. You have to be willing to drive and then walk..and walk..and walk...lol We didn't bring home near as much stuff as I'd like, but then, I haven't won the lottery either! The fresh fruit and veggies are offered at fabulous prices and the last couple of hours before they have to close..they start marking things way down...like a bag of zucchini (big bag) for $1. and 3 fresh pineapples for $3.00. In the market, those cost $2 - $3 for one! Notice I bought healthy stuff...too...lol
This will be a busy week. Have a couple of projects that are important and must be completed soon!! Attending a luncheon this week...giving one next week...going to a couple of halloween parties .. I think I need a vacation! hehe
hugz and thanks to all my friends! 0:-)

CHECKING IN...
Saturday evening and not much new, but wanted to check up on all of you. According to the blogs, or lack thereof, it seems not much...hehe. Thanks Dini gf for being the only one to provide reading material for a quiet Saturday night :-) and even you said you don't have much to say... lol.
Today found me sleeping in really late for me... I finally dragged myself out of bed shortly before 11am and I think I could have continued to sleep even then! This afternoon found Brit and I at a Crate and Barrel store with a credit she's had that she gave to mom to spend! Woohoo... added a few things to my christmas decorations collection and then bought a couple of surprises with the leftover credit, and all I ended up spending was $3.59 out of a $45 dollar shopping trip!
Later today was more shopping... I think with Christmas only 8 weeks away.. "shopping" will be something I'll be doing a lot of..lol. Besides Christmas, I have important birthdays coming up, 2 baby showers, and then.. well, you know! :) My favorite part of it all...is to make fantastic deals and I've been having great luck at that lately! I used to hate that my mom always made me shop the sale/clearance racks (out of neccessity for her) but it's been the best lesson I learned as an adult..AND the bonus is...my girls do it too! (sometimes..haha) Darn, guess our moms really did know "stuff", huh? hehe
Well, tomorrow is a day trip with Amanda, my mom, and my aunt...so, will bid you all a good night's sleep and sweetest of dreams...
stay safe and well 0:-)

to blog or not to blog...
That is the question. I'm thinking perhaps I'm not supposed to? lol I had my blog all done and typed up early and the site went down for maintainence just as I hit publish... guess what...my blog was electronically abucted and to where, I know not. It must have been so very good that someone wanted to steal it...hehe. NOT :)
We're having a brief respite from the incredible amounts of rain we've had the last 4 days. We've gone from possibly being in a drought to being above normal..all in since Saturday! Of course, although we needed rain to keep our vegatation from becoming kindling, this kind of rain comes with it's own problems. First off, Californian's do NOT know how to drive in the rain. (not including me of course, I'm Canadian..hehe) Can you imagine, the freeway gets WET which causes people to not be able to stop on a dime like they like to do and 75 is still the norm. Then there are poor drainage systems, ie: underground parking which was flooded with 4 feet of water because that particular street has only one gutter drain right by the driveway to this apartment complex... drain fills, water backs up and goes right down into the garage. I would not like to see what the insurance bill to this will be! Oh well, at least it's not snow..hehe
Glad to see you took back your resignation, Brad. Gotta have my aussie fix every day, yanno? :) To whomever gave you grief... shuddup and do your own dang blog before you get yer britches in a bunch about somebody else's!
time to figure out dinner... stay safe and well... hugz

MONDAY ALREADY??
Wow, where'd the weekend go? Oh, that's right, I filled it up with lots of different things. To the best of my recollection, they all were fun! :-) Including Friday night! *grin*
Seems our summer ended literally overnight and we went from the mid 90's last Wednesday to rain off and on since Saturday afternoon and highs in the mid 60's! Now all I want is fall colors, and I'd be one happy gal! Actually, just taking a break from summer makes me happy! lol Is there anywhere I could have the best of all seasons, all the time??? Guess I won't need to be borrowing Brad's a/c!
Well, thought I could write more, but the pain in my brain is making any further ramblings in vain. Guess I'll go lie down and listen to the rain....
stay safe and well.. hugzzz

TGIF!!! (to go is fun!)
A Friday morning quickie! :) What is that again....oh yeah, a short BLOG! Today will be a full day, so I'm planning ahead in case I come home too late to blog and to satisfy the cravings of the addicts. :)
I will soon be heading off to work, off at noon, a couple of errands to run, down to Knotts Berry Farm to pick up tickets for Knott's Halloween Haunt, then a quick jaunt down the road to Disneyland where I'll meet up with some friends, a couple of hours of dancing this evening AND then at some point, I'll be home! I love having adult children!! :-) If anyone is free to join me, let me know before noon! :P
I'm considering taking on a very part-time retail job for the season but just can't make up my mind. The money is always helpful and the discount would be great, but I am soooooooo spoiled to my hours and my weekends to myself. Choices, choices! Thoughts?
Okay, I have to be to work early as boss is on his way to New England for long weekend. I want to be like him when I grow up!
Happy Friday and have a fabulous weekend!

RATHER THAN WHINE..
To be faithful to tonite's title... I will keep this short, thus avoiding any opportunity to WHINE about yet another unpleasant conversation with my youngest. Instead, I will ask for prayer and good thoughts...for both of us!
Went shopping today..hehe... more stocking stuffers, some birthday gifts, and some odds and ends. Went to Michaels Craft store for some fun goodies..good grief, I could spend a fortune there and be doing projects for the rest of my life..lol. Hope to be able to share some of them with you in the near future!
Work will be quiet til next Tuesday, so if you're feeling so inclined..give me a call..hehe. Will be working on projects, at my own pace..gotta love it!
need to sleep...perchance to dream..stay safe and well

blah, blah, blahgggggggg...
Hmmm, Monday night and I have not much to report...or say. Relatively quiet Sunday and Monday. Yes, SOME of us had to WORK... to pay the bills, to start Christmas shopping (and yes, I have :P), and last but not least, to do one of my favorite things .. book a flight for next years visit to Ontario! I don't think I've ever considered booking a flight this early, then again, I don't think I've ever found a fare so low to Toronto... $225. RT, nonstop!!
Have been picking up stocking stuffers and a small gift here and there. This year my goal is to be more creative and pennywise. Note I said, goal... we'll discuss the end result come January.
Planning on having a Christmas party around December 12th .. please get in touch to RSVP.. hehe. You are ALL welcome! :)
laughing... as I look around at my halloween decorations. Oh well.. I love the holidays!
bed is calling me... stay safe.. God bless

SHHH, IT'S QUIET.....
Saturday afternoon and my house is back to being quiet! LOL Had my grandchildren from yesterday afternoon until just about an hour ago so their parents, my son and d.i.l., could enjoy their 10th anniversary..alone! :-)
We had fun creating a special evening for them... a gift certificate to Outback for dinner (where you can't afford to eat with young kids...LOL), to the movies (they saw Ladder 49), and then a goody bag for the hotel with Martinelli's, special glasses, bubble bath, a candle and some munchies. They actually looked relaxed when we met them for lunch today.
We also planned fun stuff to do with the kids.. saw Shark Tale, went to McD's (ick..LOL) and then off to the pumpkin patch to get them each their own pumpkin that they carved with their aunties. Bedtime was a little difficult as they aren't used to staying overnight anywhere and they both have allergies to our cat. :( Sleep eventually claimed them *whew* and about 6 am I had company in bed...LOL...grandson had a "terrible" dream. He was back to sleep in 30 seconds... took me an hour..haha ...grandma is not used to sharing her bed..LOL Today we went and found Halloween costumes.. Jared will be a superhero, of course, Spiderman and Halyn will be just like her grandma... *innocent grin* an ANGEL! 0:-)
What a fabulous 24 hours.... the gift being at the end when Jared did not want to go home but stay with grandma .. he sat in my car hanging on to his carseat for dear life. A big hug, putting on his Spiderman gloves, and a promise to come visit soon got him into mom and dad's car and heading home...the gloved hand out the window waving goodbye til he couldn't see us.
I think I will enjoy my quiet and the new memories created this weekend. Hope you all have a special weekend too!
hugzzzz....

YOU HAD TO BE THERE...
I really thought that I had nothing to write about this evening, and truth be told, I still think I don't...BUT.. you had to be in channel to understand!
It seems to be ladies night in channel and being the bright, articulate, wonderful women that we are, we find the most interesting subjects to discuss. World news, computer tech stuff, the men in our lives (or not) and last but not least... CAT POOP! Yes, I'm serious.. lol....glands, haircuts for appropriate places, right and wrong foods, etc. I think I learned more than I needed to know! :-)
You ladies are fabulous and I love you all. I am thankful for all of the knowledge you have and are willing to share from a recipe, to helping a pet, to just being a shoulder when needed!
bigggggggggg hugzzzzzzzzzzz and sweet dreams 0:-)
ps...you guys are awesome too!

Monday, Monday....
A short message to wish you all a good week! Today was definitely a Monday, starting when I ended wearing some of my breakfast to work on my shirt..haha. Was a day of little annoyances that, lucky for me, never grew any bigger...lol. They were just there to remind me that laughter is still the best medicine. :-)
Had a house full of young adults tonite. I sat back listening to them discuss work, politics, school (college) and wondered where had the days of Care Bears, Rainbow Brite and Strawberry Shortcake gone??? Oh, that's right...they've all come back and now we have grown up size shirts with them on there. LOL As much as things change, they stay the same. :-)
May your week be filled with blessings of all sizes..
hugz til then...

weekend is over...
Why is it that the weekends pass so quickly???? Does anyone have an answer for that? And while your at it, can you tell me how to shorten my work week? :-)
This was weekend #2 of visiting and memories. Caught up with a good friend I used to work with and we spent a couple of hours or so talking about the time we worked together and all the people that came through our lives. We worked together at a towing company for about 6 years and saw a lot of people come and go. Towing is one of those dime a dozen jobs where you meet quite an interesting slice of humanity. My friend and a few others, were among the normal, everyday folks just making a living to take care of their families. They took pride in what they did, and did it well.. (trust me..their a lot that don't!) ..and they treated me, their dispatcher, like a queen. woohoooooooo (not that I deserve any less) :-)
Today was a shopping day. Checked out the new Hallmark holiday ornaments so I can get the ones I want early! Each year I buy my daughters a new one to add to their collection for when they move out. They will all have ornaments, a nativity set, and of course, a copy of White Christmas...hehe. Yeah, yeah...I know it's not even Halloween yet! lol
Okay...not a lot to say tonite...soooooooooooooooooo
off to bed i gooooooooooo... hugz n happy days!

You're a Spring. You usually are very close-knit
with your friends and value everyone freidnship
you have. You're a real people person and
everyone loves how friendly you are. You're
good with encouraging people but usually don't
like to be the center of attention. You are a
social butterfly and probably are in several
circles of friends but it's just because you're
well liked and you make people comfortable.
You're both fun and wise but you are very
realistic about life.(If you can't see tje
pics, go to my homepage and look near the
bottom and find your result)
What season are you? (pics)
