Counting down and not done....
Mmmm, I so enjoyed having a 3 day weekend, even if it was filled with lots of things! The weather was beautiful, the traffic relatively light, and I got a newer toy than my last one! BONUS!
Saturday was a good day to sleep in and just relax for a bit. Amanda and I headed out for field trip to just enjoy shooting photo's for the pleasure of it. We headed out to the Los Angeles County Aboretum ..url for your viewing pleasure http://www.arboretum.org/ ..where we did finally end up, but not til we stopped at the camera place because my digital was acting weird. Long story short, I no longer have the Canon Digital Reblel, instead I have the Canon Digital XT. WOOHOO! Much better!
Sunday found me driving up to my son's (about 90 min away) to take my grandkids out for a date with grandma! We enjoyed lunch, miniature golf, shopping for bathings suits (for them!), scrapbook shopping and a treat...great afternoon!!
Today was a field trip to a store that has fabulous deals on mattes. They take the centers that are scraps and sell them for next to nothing, $1.49 for a 16x20 and then $5.00 for the cut. These aren't just plain paper mattes, but textured, silk, etc. Had a great time preparing for next photo's to be matted!
This week will be busy, so won't blog again til sometime next week. Have to have everything finished, an inventory of all the cards, matted photo's and framed photo's all done and priced and ready by Thursday night. Friday we hang our art and Saturday is opening day at the gallery.
So, have a wonderful week and stay safe and well...

So, where was I?
Wow, I haven't blogged since the 12th? Where has the time gone?? Oh yeah, to working and playing, and cleaning and shopping, and dancing and DISNEYLAND, finally! Seems like forever since I've been there! (or here!)
This weekend my friend was finally laid to rest, God Bless her soul. The day was absolutely beautiful, azure skies, a slight breeze, warm sunshine.. a day befitting her . The chapel was filled to capacity and then overflowed onto the patio outside, where I chose to sit. Her son and daughter spoke (more than I could ever do) beautifully, describing in detail the lovely woman we all knew her to be. The amount of people there and then at the reception reflected the same. Laughing, I know she's laughing at me... she was not a saint.. just a great person. I can only hope I touch that many lives.
Saturday afternoon found me at Disneyland with my older goddtr, soon to be 16, which balanced the sadness earlier in the day. We enjoyed just wandering around, having dinner together and just having time to talk. She's a fun young lady (just as saucy as her mother!) lol and was great company! Today was also filled with fun stuff and now tomorrow and work are right around the corner... woohooooo...next weekend is my long weekend!
Salsa continues to be a great source of fun and frustation..lol One of these days I'll get it! (enuff to feel comfortable, that is..lol) Who knew it was such hard work!? Maybe I'm too mature for such challenges..lol
Well, time to call is a night... stay safe and well

tgif ..again! :-)
Friday morning and I actually have a few minutes before heading off to work. Weekends seem too busy anymore to find the time and/or motivation to blog, sooooooooooo, here I am!
The week has been relatively quiet. All the photo's taken have been delivered and the recipients happy with what they received. (breathing a sigh of relief) I was able to get the wedding photo's to the newlyweds before her surgery on Wednesday, which I'm happy to report went well, in as much as she survived the surgery (brain) and they were able to remove between 75 and 90 percent of the tumor. The rest was left because it was directly on the brain stem. They are now awaiting the pathology reports. Continued prayer and good thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Taking a class tomorrow about my new digital. With the purchase of the camera I am able to take 18 free classes. There go more weekends..lol No idea what Mother's Day holds so we'll just wait and see. Anyone free for brunch? :-)
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend, whatever you do!
Happy Mother's Day!
stay safe and well.. hugz O:-)

the part of being a grownup I don't like...
That part would be watching friends and family become ill and often lose their battle. After a 2 year battle with cancer, cancer won and my friend left this world early Saturday morning surrounded by her loved ones. She was blessed with a son and daughter that loved her, 5 grandchildren and a loving husband she shared 50 years of marriage with. I was blessed with her friendship, loving and generous spirit, and many doses of her feistiness..laughing.
Alooooooooooooha, Barbara... keep you eye out for me, k? I'm missing you already!
The weekend was good, just busy... shot a wedding on Saturday (see pics) and some more landscapes on Sunday. (more pics) I've taken to trying to keep my digital with me more often so I can practice more. The dog photo was taken at the car wash..lol..what a stunning dog. He's 8 months old and they will start showing him in about a year.
Feels weird to have no travel plans so far this year. Lots of places to go but airfares are way out of my price range. LA to Toronto this morning, $586. OUCHHHHHHHHHH Stay tuned.. Wishing Bobbi and Dave a fabulous time on their cruise! You sure you don't need a valet? ;-)
Missing my friends on here...everyone, including me, are busy and just not around much. Life and times change. Come back and visitttttttttt!
Just in case I don't make it back here before Sunday, I am sending warm Mother's Day wishes to all the mom's I know ..and to those that aren't.. have a wonderful day with yours or a special woman in your life.
Happy Wednesday all...til next time..stay safe and well.
