no news....

Tuedsay morning, and there is no news. Of course, it's the middle of the night in Australia, and I'm hoping Brad and Lisa are getting some much needed rest that will give them the strength they need.

Waiting... has to be one of the worst things to do. You try and find extra "stuff" to do to make the time pass while waiting for a word or two, and when you look at the clock, only moments have passed. Waiting and being a continent away is worse, cuz you can't help in any way.

Seems Canada must be sending down some of their cold weather again! Last night found us at about 37 and where my son is, 26F, they even had a freeze warning...brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!
Would you mind keeping your cold to yourself?! :-)

hugz and love and prayers to the Moyle's .. we're here for you...

Dad and Wesley Posted by Hello

I couldn't have said it better..

I spoke with Brad online for a few minutes today. There was nothing new as of then. Lisa had a difficult time of it last night and Brad is doing as well as can be expected. He asked me to pass on his thanks for everyone's good thoughts and prayers and will keep me updated.

Thanks Dini for your extremely well spoken blog. I could not have said it better. I did not blog yesterday because I couldn't ... I was just too overwhelmed by my feelings. What I did instead was contact as many people as I could reach and spent the day sending up prayers whatever I was doing.

For Brad, continued strength my friend, as I know you are having to be the strong one .. for Lisa, a speedy recovery so that you can go be with your little fella, I can only imagine how difficult it must be without him in the same hospital...and for Wesley, the wisdom of the doctors and nurses and a complete and quick recovery so you can go home with mum and dad. Your "online" family is sending you, and your fabulous parents, incredible amounts of love, well wishes, and prayers.

As my Thanksgiving weekend draws to a close, I am thankful for the wonderful opportunity to call all of you my friends. You're a great and diverse group and I'm glad that we have the chance to share life's ups and downs and everything in between.

Stay safe and well and believe in miracles! ... hugz 0:-)

grndaughter enjoying snow in So. Cal! :-) Posted by Hello

I'm dreaming....

Of a white Christmas, of course! Sighhhhhh.. my favorite holiday movie! I'm sitting here, feeling stuffed like the turkey we had for dinner today! :-) It felt like we basically had two dinners today. Lunch at ex sis-in-laws was ham with all the trimmings, and dinner with my side of family was turkey with lots more trimmings!! We were sent home with lots of leftovers and a box of Sees chocolate! Anyone?

Hmmmm, what am I thankful for? My list of blessings is long but I will give you the readers digest version that looks something like this... waking up healthy every day, family and friends - offline and on, a relationship with God who always takes care of me, a fabulous job, the opportunity to do things I love ..and and and. Bottom line...for everything, even the hard lessons I've had to learn!

I love having extra days off, especially when they aren't filled with "stuff" to do. This weekend will be time decorate our home for Christmas and then I think I'll just do whatever I darn well want .. time for me! Maybe a movie, maybe Disneyland, maybe NOTHING. :-)

On that note, may you all enjoy the weekend and the "official" beginning of the Christmas season. May you stop to appreciate the delight on a child's face as they see the decorations, the lights, and the big guy in the red suit .. to place a dollar in the hand of someone less fortunate than you.. to spend time with family and friends and to be thankful for all your blessings.

stay safe and well... hugz n love to you.. 0:-)

midday blog...

Surprise! Yup, it's me in the middle of the day!!

I'm inundated with Christmas cards for the office and the boss's personal cards. I address about 250 total in calligraphy, please note limp wrist ..lol .. and this also affects my blogging! (you bought that, right?) Btw, did I mention I may not send any cards out?! Like that would ever happen?! NOT

I'm excited about the holiday season. I know many people are into it bigtime already, but I will stick with my annual tradition of Thanksgiving weekend being the "official" start. I'm hoping we can have our decorations up sometime this weekend. I've discovered Walmart, late on a weeknight, is a much safer place to be then on any weekend from now until mid January! Of course, having a 24 hour Walmart is a bonus! :-) Anyone want to send me their list, AND the money to go with it? hehe

gone for now... stay safe 0:-)

raindrops on roses...

That is what my friends are to me.. a beautiful garden, a delight to the eyes and the senses, in varying stages of bloom. Thank you for filling my life with such joy, humor, talent!

Another busy weekend but a fun one! Two nites of dancing! I'm too old for this, you know..lol.. you guys are supposed to be protecting me from ME. Went to see Polar Express .. a good Christmas movie.. animation was well done, and the lesson a good one. :-) Two great movies in a row...I'm a happy camper! A little more Christmas shopping done today... my goal is to be done by the 10th at the very latest! Thinking I might play the lottery for the next couple of weeks! lol

Must sleep .. wishing you all sugarplum dreams...

stay safe and well... hugz 0:-)

Martha Stewart I'm not..

But thanks for the compliment, Pat..hehe. Well, today was another luncheon here and now I think we'll take a break until December 4th. Three parties in 7 days... what was I thinking??? I have no complaints tho..each one turned out lovely and I enjoyed opening my home. Today was a Thanksgiving luncheon and I was able to pull out my pumpkin soup bowls (go to CrateandBarrel.com and look under holidays/thanksgiving), lovely gold renaissance candlesticks (also from C&B) ..autumn napkins with beautifully colored maple leaves on them. Our menu consisted of Hamburger soup..yummmmm..green salad, french bread and a fruit torte for dessert.

Next weekend I get to decorate for my favorite season of the year. Not because I love all the glitter and scents and candles, etc (which I do) .. but because it is a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus, the foundation in my life. :-) A time to spend with family and friends online and off and to find those special gifts!

off I go...a photo job for a bit...will finish later...

hugz to all!

gifts before wrapping! Posted by Hello

My party weekend...

What a busy and fulfilling weekend! I know it seems to many of you that most of mine are like that, but honestly, I enjoy it...well, usually..hehe. This was a weekend of giving and what I received in return cannot be measured but by the heart. The best way I can describe it would be to say that my emotional tanks have been filled to overflowing!!

I participated in two babyshowers, both in my home .. one filled my home with 17 women (scary..hehe) and the other was a new and exciting experience, an online babyshower for a very special couple in Australia. We were able to truly participate in this shower as our dad-to- be set up his webcam so we could watch them opening their gifts! I drew the line at sending cake and goodies to the guests..lol Thanks to all those that participated and kept the SECRET for 6 weeks! lol Special thanks to Dini and Cathy for emailing and to Dini for the fabulous invite...just too cute! It was definitely a group effort! hugzzzzzzzzzz

The luncheon I hosted on Friday was attended by my 4 oldest (not literally..haha) and dearest friends. Women that have seen me through my very worst, and lemme tell you, it wasn't pretty, and they continued to love me and support me. They are beautiful inside and out, funny, intelligent, loving, strong in their faith, and yet very human women. I have known them 23, 22, 20 and 17 years .. longer than I was able to stay married!

Thank YOU all for allowing me to share in your lives and happiness. Remember to pay it forward!

stay safe and well .. Reetz

a wee blog....

What fun I had today...NOT! I had about an hour go around with the postal service regarding finding out where a package was. I sent 2 of them last Thursday morning and all I got today was one person passing me off to the next, I think because no one could give me an answer that could explain the ineptitude of the US Postal Service!! With the rates we are charged, you'd think they could actually fake it and make us believe that all is well and going as they promised.

Had a nice evening with B & C and B's bf. Got our first holiday movie in! hehe Going to try and do one a week. C2 aka Carlos, had not seen Santa Clause one, so we enjoyed sharing it with him. Will have to follow it up with SC 2 so that this weeks will still be fresh in his mind!

Enough for tonight.. hope this appeases those that would be threatening me.. AGAIN..hehe

ciao for now...stay safe and warm!

A Cranky Queen = me? :-) Posted by Hello

This n that...

Today was Monday, without a doubt! Can't we make it Friday already? In fact, a day as lovely as last Friday would be perfect! Lots of projects at work and while I'm in the midst of 1 or 3, he puts another one on my desk while expecting me to answer the phones, be working on addressing 250 Christmas cards in calligraphy, and be cheerful and friendly! Oy vey!

Yesterday at lunch Amanda and I ran into the couple that lost their daughter two weeks ago. It was so hard to see them and not cry. She hugged me so long and hard *sigh*.. I can't imagine and never want to know the incredible pain they are going through. To make it more difficult their daughter would have been 27 the day before. She (the mom) was slender before.. she's a waif now.. she calls it the "grief diet" but does not recommend it for anyone.. she even managed to say that with a wee smile. Good thoughts and prayers for them please, my friends!

We're doing some pre-winter spring cleaning in our house. Time to clean out all that stuff we don't really want, but don't want to get rid of either ..lol .. to make room for whatever finds it's way into our home at Christmas and to have our home uncluttered and inviting for anyone that stops by, so feel free..hehe. I am always amazed at how much we still have to give away to share with those less fortunate and yet, we still have "stuff"!

This is a busy week... a luncheon here on Friday, a babyshower here on Sunday, and if I have any energy, will try to go dancing on Saturday night! I'm not overextended, am I? Nawww...

okay.. my blog is done..as am i for tonight.. stay safe and warm..

California Christmas Mickey! Posted by Hello

guess you missed me...

Wow, here we are at Saturday evening and I have not blogged since Monday.... and let me tell you, I DID hear about it! The blog goddess and her goddess-in-training cornered me today and THREATENED me with a horse's head...ewwwwwwwwwwww.... bad enough I've already had to deal with a horses ***. Seems we've gone mafioso in the upper ranks!!

What a busy week it has been, but I got a lot accomplished! I look forward to being able to share with everyone what I've been working on, eventually. Right now we're in the midst of getting ready for a number of functions we'll be having here at the house over the next couple of weeks. If you have any spare time..I would love the help. :)

Yesterday was fabulous!! I took the day off and went to Disneyland with my gf for her birthday! The weather was incredible, the crowds small, and the company, great! We got to see some of the upgrading they have accomplished thus far for the HUGE 50th Anniversary Celebration they'll be having on 5-5-05. (the actual anniversary is July 17th.. go figure). We enjoyed window shopping, our favorite rides, people watching, eating.. hey, what more could we ask for! We left at 9am and got home at 9:30pm.. busy day..lol

Off to dinner I go and then maybe dancing if I have the energy! Have a great evening!

hugz for now 0:-)
