a lovely Disney day....
It's early on Sunday evening and I thought I drop in a quick blog before the finale of Dancing with the Stars and of course, Grey's Anatomy! I don't want to get beaked at for not blogging!
Was a beautiful weekend, weather wise, in preparation for the downpour we are expecting for most, if not all, of the upcoming week! Clouds came and went ...the sun was hot and strong when it was out and then the clouds were a welcome respite.
This kind of weather brings the crowds to Disneyland, and today was no exception. Lots and lots of people of all ages, sizes, shapes bumping into each other, standing in lines for upwards of an hour but being for the most part, pretty pleasant, even the munchkins..lol. Amazingly enough, there were even lines at the carts where you can buy soda's and ice cream.. geeez! lol
Short and sweet. Enjoy the couple of pictures I am attaching.. AND..have a wonderful week!
stay safe and well ... hugz O:-)
P.S. for your viewing pleasure...lol http://disneyland.com/buzzphotos

gotta love short weeks...
Wooohoooo... tomorrow is Thursday! Don't you just love short weeks??? Either way, I do! :-) It's only been 2 days...so, I really DON'T have much to report.
Last night was Salsa class. Arriba, arriba...hehe. After 3 lessons, I can now to a complete "basic" dance. (relatively well..lol) You would not believe how many steps/moves that takes and how physical it it. One more class in beginners and then off to intermediate. One of the great things about the place where I'm attending class is that when you move to the next level you can come back and do beginners for free. BONUS, and something I will take advantage of...lol.
Over the next few days we should have really nice weather again and then next week they are forecasting rain again and more winter temperatures. Would love if it would just stay around the same for a while.
Anyone watch Oprah? This week she's been reporting on the aftermath of hurricane Katrina and how little has been done over the last six months. I was floored and saddened all over again to still see all the trash, sewage, ruined & mold infested homes that have to be torn down, tent villages.. I could go on and on. I live in one of the richest countries in the world and no one seems to be able to at least cleanup the mess so that our own citizens can live in clean and safe areas. Rebuilding will take years.. but why the delay on the basics? Did you know that there are fields, notice not just one, that are filled with brand new trailers just waiting to be given to some of the people in need. They've been there since weeks after the hurricane. They say it's on a "case by case" basis.. will that be in this lifetime? Anyway, Oprah and Habitat continue to build home through her Angel Network with the goal of 250 homes. They are built and furnished with donations of all kinds. I would encourage you, if you are so inclined, to go to www.Oprah.com and look at her registry. You can purchase an item for as little as $10. (the cost of a fast food meal) or pay for a house at $50,000. (for those of you that have won the lottery) It's all about taking care of each other.
Thanks for reading...had more to say then I thought.
God bless...stay safe and well..

Well, said I might and then I wasn't going to, but here I am..so, guess I will so that maybe others will continue to. And if that doesn't make sense to you, I know it will to someone. :-)
Not terribly much new. Had a three day weekend with which I did not do much at all and yet, I have no regrets, cuz I did what I wanted. *smile* Most productive thing I did was go to Reunion Committe meeting, after that it was all about taking it easy, watching lots of movies, cooking..yes, you read that right... COOKING.. not only for my family but for my mom & brother and my aunt, uncle and cuzzin! Seems everyone enjoyed the results and there are no leftovers...sorry! :-)
Had to get some photo's reprinted and, as I have for the last few months, I eyed the Canon 8.1 megapixel digital camera. I played with it...stroked it...took a picture or two with it, and handed it back...sighhhh... isn't it my turn to win the lottery???
Been playing with my new "lettering" techniques, so, if you receive mail from me, don't be surprised if I use you as a guinea pig..lol. Have to try this stuff out on someone, ya know? Thank goodness I can multitask relatively well..lol...watch t.v. and practice! Haven't watched lots of the Olympics but have tried to catch as much of the ice skating as possible. Just watched the Italian couple skate and make up after last nite's mess. They had not spoken or practiced together since last nite and you could see in their free dance all the emotions ...they were fabulous! To give up one's "life" to reach the Olympics... I wonder how many of us have that kind of motivation and committment?
Well, thought I had nothing to type.. surprise! lol Have a wonderful week...
stay safe and well... O:-)

repair day...
Friday afternoon and so far the plumber has come and gone, hopefully for the LAST time, and the Sear's repairman is almost done. What a way to spend my afternoon off...lol Actually RICK, I'm a little disappointed in my refridgerator. It is not quite 5 years old and they had to replace the compressor!! Could you talk to someone about that for me??? Thank goodness I purchased the warranty!
It's been a busy and mostly fun week and I am now looking forward to a 3 day weekend. I'm not sure how I'll spend my time, but hopefully wisely so that when I go back to work on Tuesday I'll have enjoyed every moment! :-)
Valentines Day was lovely. My girls were very thoughtful and had picked out special cards for me, I could tell which one was from which. Brit gave me a really soft red & white stuffed dog , and then a gorgeous flower arrangement from all of them that Chelsea did by herself at work. That evening was my salsa class and it was great fun. Quite a workout and I came home beat but feelin fine!
Last night was dinner a girlfriend and then we went to a Lettering Class together. It was lots of fun and I look forward to using it on some new idea's/projects I have in mind...like I need any more projects...lol Next month we're taking the Doodling class that goes with it...woohooo...
Well, my house is quiet again so think I'll go enjoy it... have a fabulous weekend and as always....
stay safe and well.....

choices....
Here is a quandary …
How do you choose? How do you not betray the request, and trust, of one friend and yet not offend another? You make a choice, you know there will be a consequence and you hope for understanding, not condemnation.
Friendship requires trust and honor. For one to know you can be trusted, you must prove yourself to be trustworthy, to be honorable…to be a real friend.
stay safe and well....

two in 24 hours!
SuperBowl XL is now history and my son is a very happy camper!!! The bottom line is, todays best team won. It would have been nice to see a team that's never won win, but it just wasn't their time. How would you rate this years commercials?
Had a date with my mom and aunt today. Why is it we can never leave Walmart having only spent $10.00??
Seems all these things we "have to have" just jump into our carts and oops... $70... GONE! Of course, we still prefer t.p. to leaves, laundry detergent to lye, lightbulbs to lantern oil... so guess it was money well spent!
Enjoyed a great lunch at my aunts house...she's such a fabulous cook.. I could only hope to be 1/2 as good, and I'm not that bad! The latter part of the afternoon was spent composing a letter in German that I need to respond to, and a few hands of Kings on the Corner..a card game we used to play with my Oma when she was in long term care. I amazed myself that at how much German I have retained. My aunt helped me with the composition but I knew how to spell probably 90% of the words...wow...all those lessons and classes I took when I was young were worth it!
Enjoying an early Grey's Anatomy and dang, it 's a good one!! Really look forward to this show each week. AND then ... Noah Wylie will be back on ER this week! Exciting t.v.... I know how to live! lol
Wishing you all a wonderful week.. stay safe and well....
hugz O:-)
Middle of the night...
Well, guess it's actually beginning of a new day. Home earlier than usual, so thought I'd get caught up. Having an early, well 10am early..lol, Walmart date with Mom and aunt, so have to get my sleep!
Weather here is actually quite lovely for this time of year. I know it's just a fluke, but will enjoy it while we have it. We're wayyyyyyyyyy behind in rain, probably cuz Vancouver has taken our share too!! Last year at this time we'd had 23 inches ..this year we're at 7? (possibly less)
Congratulations again to Brad and Lisa as they welcomed Bentley into the world. Glad to hear mom and baby are doing well and I know Brad is looking forward to getting them home! He's a handsome little fella..kinda like his dad..but don't tell Brad that..haha.
Getting busier working on our high school reunion. I enjoy catching up with friends I don't keep in touch with regularly but don't like hearing about the folks we've lost..they are just too young!! I love the organizing part and watching it come together.
Time for sleep...til then... stay safe and well.
hugz O:-)
